The SCI-TREK program offered by Atlantis is a unique program which focuses on the principles of STEM education and makes learning fun and exploratory through hands-on activities. As a Science Program, SCITREK is a comprehensive learning platform which serves to lay a strong foundation for a conceptual understanding of the core principles and fundamentals, at the same time making it practical by giving it an experiential approach and relating it to the daily life experiences. Let us look at some salient features of our unique Science Program.
Complementing School Curriculum:
Our Science Program is carefully designed by experienced educators and curriculum experts to complement the school curriculum in subjects like Science and Mathematics. SCI-TREK is an inclusive Science Program and covers a varied range of topics in an interdisciplinary manner. Different topics like Newton’s Laws, Energy, thermodynamics, light, lasers, fiber optics, electricity, magnetism, and machines form the basis of introducing more concepts from mathematics, engineering as well as natural sciences and biology. Our wide range of Science Program also incorporates workshops on planetary science, cosmology, astronomy, and astrophotography.
Supported by interactive demonstrations and ice-breaking sessions:
Our program follows an interesting format where activities are introduced to students not as a learning practice, but as a fun interaction. Ice breaking sessions bring the wonder of Science alive in the classroom and students engage with the concepts like a mystery to unfold. Science is an exploration of the world around. Building on this vision, SCI-TREK has been designed as an informal science program. Highly engaging, fun, and educational presentations and demonstrations allow for the students’ involvement as an active group and becomes an important milestone for the success of this science program.
Hands-on sessions are conducted during the Science Program:
This makes the understanding of scientific concepts a very amusing and fun process. Science is about everyday life and solving the mystery therein. Scientific concepts in the books make the subject very alien to young students. If Science is restrained to textbooks, students find it very difficult to correlate it with real life and this makes study very burdensome for them. Hands-on activities during our science program help regain the essence of Science, to observe, to analyze, to understand. We design activities which are also critical in the development of team building, motor skills, and soft skills.
The flexibility of conduction:
One of the crucial and prominent features of our Science program is the ease with which our educators can conduct it, how-so-ever may be the circumstances. We don’t require any special set of material from the school. The workshops can be conducted on the school campus or we can take the students out for a day away from school. The Science Program can be conducted during the school hours or It can be organized after school as an extra-curricular activity. What’s more, we can also engage parents during an evening astronomy camp where they can share the process of learning with their children.
