Europe: Art, History and Technology

Europe is a versatile continent where one can spend months exploring Art, History and Technology alike. From ultra-modern facilities, super fast cars to centuries old castles, picturesque mountains to lush green fields, there is always something new to see and experience.

Our programs to Europe widely explore Art, History and Technology. CERN, Airbus A380 Factory, BMW Super Car Factory, Eiffel Tower, Louvre, Vatican, Jungfraujoch, Stettler Chocolate Factory are some of the places we highlight but our real strength lies in working with our clients to create a focused program that matches your requirements and educational goals.

  • CERN
  • BMW Factory
  • Chocolates & Watches
  • Eiffel & Louvre
  • Airbus A380 Factory
  • Vatican City
  • Alpine Peaks

Headquartered in Geneva, the CERN (European Organisation for Nuclear Research) is a premier research institution operating the largest particle physics laboratory in the world. Hosting over 10,000 visiting scientists and engineers representing 608 universities and research facilities and 113 nationalities, CERN is also the birthplace of the World Wide Web!

At the camp, students are encouraged to delve into the realms of physics and engineering. They interact with renowned scientists and learn how particle accelerators and decelators work.

Apart from learning about GRID computing and being a part of the CERN GRID, students also get an unmatched opportunity to work with CERN as a Research Analyst and provide input and feedback. Students also tour the Microcosm Museum on particle physics and understand CERN history.

At the BMW Regensburg plant, 10,000 skilled workers produce the BMW 1 Series, 3 Series, M3, and specialized vehicles such as police cars. Since the factory opened in 1986, more than three million BMWs have emerged from its flexible assembly line.

During your 2.5 hour tour, you’ll be surrounded by giant conveyors that lift car bodies into place for automated welding by computer-controlled robots. Other highlights include the “wedding” or “marriage” of engines and car bodies (with a cluster of automatic bolt-drivers rising up to lock the engines into place) and a final-assembly line where cars from different series–many of them customized for individual buyers–are put together one after the other in a remarkable display of logistical efficiency.

As cars move along the line, assembly teams ride with them on a moving belt instead of trying to walk and perform assembly tasks at the same time. Conveyors and other devices position car bodies at the most comfortable level for each task. (For example, near the end of the line, where license plates are bolted on, the cars are lifted up so workers don’t have to bend down. The plant is cleaner and better lit than many people’s kitchens, and there’s less noise than you’d expect.

STETTLER CHOCOLATE FACTORY
Swiss chocolates are legendary and the Stettler Chocolate Factory in Geneva is an icon of this legacy.

As part of the program, students explore the 60-year old factory and experience the love and passion that is painstakingly invested in every bar of chocolate.

PATEK PHILIPPE MUSEUM
Founded in 1839, Patek Philippe is based in Geneva and produces bespoke timepieces.

On Europe educational tour students tour the museum, which displays watches, sound devices and portrait miniatures dating back to the 16th century. Students also visit the library dedicated to horology.

While in Europe educational tour , your visit is incomplete without gazing at the Mona Lisa or climbing to the top of the Eiffel Tower.

The Eiffel Tower is a wrought iron lattice tower on the Champ de Mars in Paris, France. It is named after the engineer Gustave Eiffel, whose company designed and built the tower.

More than 250 million people have visited the tower since it was completed in 1889. In 2015, there were 6.91 million visitors. The tower is the most-visited paid monument in the world. An average of 25,000 people ascend the tower every day.

The Louvre Museum is the world’s largest museum and a historic monument in Paris, France. A central landmark of the city, it is located on the Right Bank of the Seine. Approximately 38,000 objects from prehistory to the 21st century are exhibited over an area of 72,735 square metres (782,910 square feet). The Louvre is world’s most visited museum, receiving 7.4 million visitors in 2016.

Toulouse and aeronautics, a long history! A touristic trail that is unique in the world: step aboard the enthralling world of aeronautics!

Go behind the scenes at a test flight, enjoy an unbeatable view from the viewing platform that overlooks the assembly line of the Airbus A380. Set off on a coach tour with commentary to visit the Airbus sites of Toulouse.

School and student groups (limited to 30 visitors) also includes a bus trip around the airport, allowing you to see air traffic on the runways and the new Airbus Delivery Centre. Then, after a tour of the Clement Ader site (including the unloading facilities for the A300-600 ST Beluga) participants can also access a viewing platform overlooking the final assembly line of the long-haul A330, A340, A340-500/600 aircraft.

Vatican City is a walled enclave within the city of Rome. With an area of approximately 44 hectares (110 acres), and a population of 842, it is the smallest state in the world by both area and population. However, formally it is not sovereign, with sovereignty being held by the Holy See, the only entity of public international law that has diplomatic relations with almost every country in the world.

While in the Vatican, students and teachers will get a tour of the Pio Clementino Museum, Gallery of the Candelabra, Gallery of the Tapestries, Gallery of the Geographical Maps, Raphael’s Rooms, Sistine Chapel and St. Peter’s Basilica.

While in Switzerland, the group has the option of either visiting Mount Titlis or Jungfraujoch as their Alpine peak attraction.

The Jungfraujoch is an Alpine attraction and viewing point, at an altitude of 3454 m. It is located in between the well known mountains Mönch and Jungfrau, in the heart of the UNESCO Natural World Heritage property “Jungfrau – Aletsch – Bietschhorn”. The cogwheel train is the only way to get there. The train station is the highest one in Europe. The views from the Jungfraujoch are absolutely amazing, and so is the trip up there.

At 10,000 feet, Mount Titlis, is Central Switzerland’s loftiest peak exuding a snow and ice spectacular that’s visually stunning. And, this journey in Switzerland is even more camera-compulsory because you’ll be riding in the revolving Rotair, an aerial cable car that delivers awesome 360-degree panoramic views of the snow-covered valleys, glaciers, lakes, forests, and mountains in Switzerland.
