SCIENCE IS FAR TOO IMPORTANT
NOT TO BE A PART OF OUR EVERYDAY CULTURE
Dr. Brian Cox
In tune with our core philosophy of education through experience, Atlantis thrives to introduce new STEM(Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) based experiential learning programs.
Sci Trek has been developed with a vision to nurture young minds and igniting the spirit of wonder and enquiry in students.
These programs serve as a comprehensive enrichment experience for participants, where they not only experience the thrill of exploring the mysteries of the universe in a learning environment that is engaging, fun and exploratory, but also serve as a foundational learning experience that supports and enhances school curriculums.
In our effort to provide the best experience to our participants, we use the most sophisticated and state of the art modern equipment and support material to facilitate all our activities.
Promoting learning based on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) modules, Atlantis provides an exclusive opportunity for students to participate in engaging activities in a day and/ or night camp, organised especially to give an impetus towards scientific exploration.
A day of fun and learning to students where they are introduced to some of the very important fundamental concepts of physics and engineering through their innovative applications in the world of aerospace, rocketry and astronomy.
We offer workshops focused on various topics of science, engineering and mathematics. These workshops are a wonderful opportunity for the inquisitive minds willing to explore the depths of interesting concepts and topics. Topics include (but not limited to):
We offer customised curriculums that can span during the entire academic year, with basic, intermediate and advanced modules that can extend over multiple years. We aim at complementing the existing subject curriculums with hands-on activities and supplemental theory. We have activities spanning Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Electronics, Mechatronics, Robotics, Astronomy, Astrophotography and more, offer these solutions using state-of-the-art equipment and improvised tools.
Our programs our specially designed to complement the school curriculum standards in sciences and mathematics , Engaging students across all levels i.e. primary, middle and secondary, through fascinating demonstrations and engaging hands-on activities on various topics ranging from Newton’s Laws, Energy, thermodynamics, planetary sciences, cosmology, light, lasers, fiber optics, electricity, magnetism, machines, natural sciences, biology, mathematics as well as astronomy and astrophotography.
Renowned Australian science educator, Mr. Sam Gibbs is the brain behind the initiation of this series of workshops. All the workshops under the Sci Trek series of programs have been designed by experienced educators from diverse backgrounds like physics, engineering, chemistry and astronomy, under the guidance of Mr. Gibbs.
Mr Gibbs brings with him 14 years of expertise in conducting informal science programs in SE Asia. He has dedicated this time to developing highly engaging, fun and educational presentations and activities that are critical in the development of understanding of the sciences and the importance of it in our everyday lives. It is estimated that he has successfully delivered programs to more than 150,000 students regionally since 2003.
He is a passionate educator who likes to spend time amongst the students. In the camps, he outlines many of the most important elements of physics and science exclusively for students.
