Trekking is among the easiest way to explore the mountains. You don’t need any specialised skills, only average physical fitness will do.
To most, a trek would mean hiking across hills with a backpack and cosying up in a sleeping bag inside a tent as night comes calling. But there’s much more than that. An experienced trekker will tell you of the ‘arrangements’ he has made—right from food, water, shelter and, navigating back to the nearest town.
Out on the hills, away from human footprint, mobile phone connectivity will be almost zero. The nearest town might be 5-6 day hike across two hills, and the nearest airport, say, another 50 km downstream. So, if things go bad, only your skills and intelligence will keep you safe.
